Weaving Space and Time

The architectural concept of "weaving" at Casa CABaN HAYAMA extends to the interior, forming the foundation for the design's overall philosophy. The exterior's distinctive braided pattern seamlessly flows into the shared spaces and guest rooms. There, it harmonizes with the natural materials, tactile finishes, and handcrafted details, blending seamlessly with the coastal surroundings of Hayama and Morito Beach. Open corridors connect the interior, allowing light and wind to flow throughout. This space weaves together a sense of openness and tranquility, intersecting with the slow passage of time.

Everything is Urquiola Design

From the structural design to the interiors and every piece of furniture, Patricia Urquiola oversaw every detail. The design is uncompromising in its vision and creates a world removed from the everyday. Straight-lined interior patterns and softly curved furniture blend harmoniously, gently embracing guests throughout their stay. Patricia Urquiola's spatial creations are highly regarded worldwide, as evidenced by the numerous awards she has received. Last year, at Salone del Mobile. Milano, ELLE DÉCOR featured a large-scale special exhibition of her work, placing her at the center of attention. Casa CABaN HAYAMA is poised to make a significant impact on the world of interior design.

Craftsmanship That Transcends Borders

Furniture made-to-order in Cassina's atelier for Casa CABaN HAYAMA

Most of the furniture throughout the hotel, including the chairs, sofas, tables, and bed frames, was made-to-order by Cassina, an Italian company. Some pieces were designed exclusively for this project, while others are existing Urquiola designs adapted to suit the hotel's specifications. Skilled furniture artisans meticulously crafted each piece at Cassina's atelier, located just an hour outside Milan. Outdoor tables and sofas for areas like the poolside and rooftop were custom-produced by the Spanish brand Kettal. Additionally, custom-made pieces by Italian manufacturers like Cimento and Moroso, along with rugs from cc-tapis, showcase just some of the finest European craftsmanship. These pieces are integrated with elements of Japanese craftsmanship, such as the braided Kyoto bamboo ceiling and the terrazzo (mosaic stone) flooring in the bathrooms. Together, they create a refined, high-quality space.
